Is dental implant surgery painful?

When will I get new teeth?
We attach a temporary tooth or teeth on the day of your surgery. You’ll leave our office with temporary teeth that are functional and attractive.
Where will my surgery take place?
Your surgery, as well as your consultation and all other restorative and follow-up appointments, will be completed in our state-of-the-art implant center in Phoenix, AZ, where we also have a fully equipped in-house dental lab. We don’t outsource any patient cases and don’t refer patients to specialists for any treatment.
What is the recovery like?
Most patients can return to normal activities immediately or the day after surgery. If any discomfort or swelling occurs, over-the-counter pain medication is often all that’s needed.
How long is the treatment process?
Our treatment is in three phases: consultation and treatment planning, surgery and attachment of a temporary, and attachment of the permanent restoration. In most cases, this can happen in three appointments or less over the course of a few months.

How do I care for dental implants?
You’ll care for your dental implants much like you do (or did) your natural teeth. Brush twice daily and floss or use a Waterpik® at least once a day. Maintain hygiene appointments every six months and refrain from smoking or tobacco use.
